Your LifeBook is a combination of a guidebook and a personal journal. You don't need to have the actual book (although, you may find it helpful!); but you will want to have a notebook, journal, or something to write in as you begin to take away some key ideas or helpful hints as we go on this journey together.

Readers' attention spans are becoming increasingly shorter. On average, people only read 28% of the words in each article. They skim like a laser beam to find information rather than reading every word as they would with a book. Here are some tips to keep your readers engaged:- Prioritize the first two paragraphs.- Use headlines and subheadings.- For longer paragraphs, provide a summary for each.- Bold or underline important words.- Utilize bullet points.

I love reading! The more I read, the lengthier my reading list grows. To read more efficiently, I turned took advice from Kam Knight, author of “Speed Reading: Learn to read a 200+ page book in 1 hour.” The three techniques I’ve implemented with success are:1.Preview material by scanning the summary information such as table of contents, major headings, words in bold or italics, visual aids and for books the writing on the front, inside, and back cover of the book, as well as table of contents. This helps improve speed and comprehension as you can see what’s coming up.2.Focus your eyes on the space between the words rather than the words themselves. The first time I tried this, I was shocked at how many words my brain could grasp at once.Though it takes practice to do it well.3.When returning to reading material, first try to recall what you read in the previous sessions. This helps with retention. Perhaps this will also be useful for you?#readmore #learnmore #growmore

Conciseness is fractal. A concise book is made of concise sentences. Clear topic sentences, headings, and chapter titles give the reader the choice to dive into details. At every level of resolution the signal/noise ratio remains high.

Going back to a familiar book, especially one with life-improving strategies, is more beneficial than constantly seeking new information without applying what you've learned. Fully grasping and implementing the strategies in a book provides greater advantages. In essence, we should seek to prioritize depth over breadth in both reading and self-improvement. The focus should be on absorbing and applying the lessons from a book before exploring new information. The true value lies in the practical application of knowledge, rather than just accumulating superficial insights.
